Pool Cleaning Frequency for Adelaide — A Realistic Schedule

Daily — chemistry checks (peak summer)
December through February, with the pool getting heavy daily use, check chlorine level once a day and adjust if needed. 30 seconds with a test strip. Most home owners using salt chlorinators set the chlorinator output once and check pH weekly — daily checks are only needed during peak heat + heavy use.
Weekly — surface skim + brush
Skim leaves and floating debris off the surface, brush the waterline tiles to clear scum, vacuum or run robotic cleaner. 30–45 minutes. October through April. Fortnightly — chemistry test + adjust

Winter — reduced
May through September, swimming is rare. Reduce filter run-time to 4–6 hours/day, top up chlorine fortnightly, brush walls monthly. Most owners cover the pool over winter to dramatically cut maintenance load.
