Lap Pools Adelaide
Lap pools turn the long, narrow Adelaide block — exactly the shape so many of our blocks are — into a serious training pool. Whether you’re an open-water swimmer keeping fitness over winter, a triathlete looking for a private pool to pace, or simply someone who wants 60 metres of stroke in their own backyard, our partner builder delivers lap pools sized 10m, 12m, or 15m, in fibreglass or concrete.

Three priced options for your block
Adelaide lap pools adelaide typically comes back at three price points. The right band for you depends on your block, the level of finish, and how the equipment package and certification are scoped. Your three free quotes break the cost down line by line so you can see what’s included where.
10m fibreglass lap — $60,000 – $90,000
Pre-moulded 10m lap shell with consistent 1.4m depth. Faster install than concrete, lower lifetime cost. Lane-line tie-points moulded into the wall on most premium models.
Typical scope: shell, full equipment, premium coping, paving consult.
12m–15m concrete lap — $95,000 – $160,000
Custom concrete lap pool, 12m to 15m end-to-end, depth specified to your stroke (1.2m–1.6m). Full lane-line system, end-walls with stroke-finish indicator tiles, premium tile interior.
Typical scope: engineered slab, shotcrete shell, lane fittings, full equipment.
Premium concrete + view-line — $140,000 – $230,000+
Architectural lap pool — long edge to a view, vanishing edge over a slope, glass-tile interior, full automation. Often paired with a wet-edge spa pod.
Typical scope: full architectural collaboration, premium materials, automation.
What length actually matters
10m gets you a real lap rhythm — 10 strokes per length for an average swimmer. 12m is the common ‘enough’ tier for triathletes. 15m is comfortably above the threshold where stroke counting feels like training, not survival. Anything above 15m is rare in residential Adelaide due to block sizes — but if you have a Hills or Fleurieu block, ask.
Depth — and why 1.4m wins
1.2m is the minimum for adult lap swimming. 1.4m is the comfortable choice — deep enough to dive shallow at the end, deep enough that tall swimmers don’t scrape feet, shallow enough that visiting kids can still touch. 1.6m+ is for serious water-polo practice or those who really like depth for relaxation laps.
Lane-line and finish-wall fittings
Specify lane fittings at quote time — moulded tie-points cost nothing in fibreglass shells but cost real money to retrofit later. Tile-stripe finish-wall indicators (the standard pool-blue stripes you see in commercial pools) help with stroke pacing and look fantastic — premium finish, modest extra cost.
