Three priced options for your block

Adelaide pool fencing & compliance adelaide typically comes back at three price points. The right band for you depends on your block, the level of finish, and how the equipment package and certification are scoped. Your three free quotes break the cost down line by line so you can see what’s included where.

Aluminium tubular fencing — $2,500 – $7,000

Standard tubular aluminium pool fence, powder-coated black or charcoal, gates with self-closing self-latching hardware, CPR signage. The Adelaide workhorse — durable, compliant, affordable.

Typical scope: fence supply + install, gates, hardware, certification.

Frameless glass fencing — $5,500 – $14,000

12mm tempered frameless glass panels, stainless spigots, soft-close gate hardware, polished edges. Premium look, near-invisible from key viewing angles, dramatically improves resale.

Typical scope: panel supply + install, structural fixings, gate, certification.

Premium semi-frameless + custom — $8,000 – $20,000+

Semi-frameless mixed glass + post systems, integrated planters, gate-opener automation, lighting integration, retaining wall + fence combos. The architectural option.

Typical scope: custom design, structural integration, automation, certification.

South Australian fencing rules — the essentials

All sides of the pool must be fenced to a minimum height of 1.2m (Adelaide Hills + bushfire zones may require taller). Gaps under and between fence members must be less than 100mm. Climbable objects (pots, BBQs, garden beds) must be clear of the non-pool side by 900mm minimum. Gates must self-close and self-latch from any open angle, with the latch at least 1.5m above ground or shielded. CPR signage on the inside of every gate. Full SA spec is in the Building Code AS1926.1.

The ‘sale of house’ compliance check

If you’re selling a property with a pool, you must hold a current Certificate of Compliance from a SA-licensed pool inspector. Many older Adelaide pools fail on the small things — gate latch height drift, climbable garden beds creeping in, plant overgrowth. Our partner does a pre-sale audit + remediation in one visit, so the cert is signed off cleanly.

Why glass fencing wins on resale

Almost every Adelaide pool that lists with frameless or semi-frameless glass fencing in the photos shows demonstrably better engagement on real estate portals than the same pool with tubular aluminium. The fence is usually 30% of the visual frame in pool photography — the difference between a dated photo and a modern photo is often just the fence material.
